Dannika Podiluk (b. 1992) is an abstract & surrealist inspired artist based in the west side of Downtown Calgary, AB. Her journey began at 20 following the sudden passing of her older brother, a crucial moment that ignited her passion for art and the need for a creative release. A delicately dark and curious essence is noted within her work. Strong themes rooted in beauty, passion, and intensity weave throughout her art exploring a repeat concept in her life - controlled chaos.

As abstract impressionism and a refined disarray meet at a crossroads; this plays a crucial role in Dannika depicting her perception of the world while drawing inspiration from its inhabitants. Painting with a spirited, playful and inquisitive nature, this intersection stands out as the most significant influence in her work.

Each piece created is an invitation to the viewer to walk along with Dannika, to connect and reflect on the unpredictability of life, death and wherever we may be suspended between and to embrace the entropic evolution life has to offer.
